Football Betting Options
Football betting options include a wide array of different bets. The most commonly known betting option is the "side" or "total". Side simply refers to betting on one team or the other to beat the pointspread. Total refers to selecting whether the total points scored by both teams will go over or under the assigned betting total.
More popular football betting options include teasers and parlays. A teaser is a wager in which you select 2 or more games and are allowed to add a certain amount of points to each side or total. This may sound easy but when considering that your laying heavier odds on these wagers they are less attractive of a proposition. In order to win your teaser wager, all teams within your teaser must cover the pointspread. One loss means your whole wager loses.
Parlays are wagers in which you group 2 or more games together betting against the listed spread or total. Parlays pay big money however again, you must win all wagers in your parlay to be paid on your wager. These wagers are not recommended unless you are an extremely sharp bettor.
Lastly, there are many other options including first half wagers in where you are betting on ONLY the 1st half, there are 2nd half wagers in which you are only betting on the outcome of the second half, and moneylines which means betting on the game with no pointspread in which you aren't using a pointspread, your using odds to determine your risk/lay and payout on winnings.
When weighing our your football betting options, we highly recommend sticking with sides and totals as a way to beat the book!
